For more than two decades, Garden Ponds has been a stable, family-owned North Shore business dedicated to creating beautiful water gardens and helping customers bring nature into their outdoor spaces. We are currently looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join our team.
Both positions begin as part-time opportunities, with the potential for full-time employment in the future. Full-time team members receive health care benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
Position 1: Pond Maintenance Technician
This position begins with training in our nursery before expanding into pond and water garden maintenance at properties throughout Kauaʻi.
What you’ll do:
- Service ponds and water gardens at residential and commercial properties
- Learn aquatic plant care and pond pump systems
- Help maintain healthy, beautiful aquatic ecosystems
Qualifications:
- No previous experience required
- Aquatic plant or pump system knowledge is a plus
- Access to a truck is preferred
- Enjoy working outdoors and getting your hands dirty
Schedule:
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week
- Flexible workdays
Ponds are fascinating ecosystems and rewarding to care for. If you enjoy flexible hours, physical work, and spending time outdoors, this could be a great fit.
Position 2: Nursery Associate
This position is primarily based at our nursery in Kīlauea.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain and propagate aquatic plants
- Assist with nursery beautification and organization
- Help customers with water gardening products
- Support sales of statuary, pavers, rain chains, ceramics, and other landscape materials
Qualifications:
- Love of plants and gardening
- Comfortable working with customers
- Ability to thrive in a retail environment
- No aquatic plant experience necessary
Schedule:
- Available workdays are Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience.
